Wellington Place is now home to 45,000 honeybees which were introduced by Leeds Bee Keeping Society to the site back in July. The hives are situated beside the river which hosts the Himalayan Balsam plant which is said to produce fantastic honey.
A competition was held for the pupils of Stanley Grove School, Wakefield to design a label for the Wellington Place honey jars which will be used when the honey is harvested next year.
