Today Team Couriers celebrate their 5th birthday

14/07/2010
This birthday marks a proud moment for owners Jamie Boyd and Jon Woodall who started the business during 2005 with a small loan from the Princes Trust which enabled them to lease one van and get started- originally making bed deliveries for local furniture stores. The duo worked night and day to get things off the ground, helping out covering work for other transport companies but they soon secured their own client base and opened an office at Birchwood Park. “Today Team has been built from the ground up, we didn’t have any experience or contacts in the transport industry but we were very determined that we could make things work” recalls Jon “Myself and Jamie are both former professional sportsmen so our competitive natures transferred well in to running our own business” Things where improving month by month until the latter part of 2008 as Jamie explains- “Our growth during 2008 was going to plan until the last quarter when the recession kicked in. It was a frustrating time but we were determined that all our hard work wasn’t going to go to waste. We were both children during the last recession so it was a new experience for us. We thought it would be best to do a lot of research to try and establish how quiet things could be. The decision we made was to make the business as lean as possible” It looks like it was right decision as they have weathered the storm and have recently employed two new staff in their Birchwood office to help re-start the growth of the company. The business operates a full nationwide same day service and work with blue chip clients like Nat West, ITV and Manchester United Football Club which is a far cry from the early days of carrying mattresses up stairs! Jamie is very positive about the future of the business “The recession has been a real learning curve for us which will stand us in good stead for the years ahead. We really want to take the business to the next level and are working very hard to secure as much local business as possible” It looks like it could be a bright future for the 2 young men from Warrington.Bookmark and Share
