Guest Speakers
The group supports people affected by a lung condition and are looking for guest speakers to come and talk on any subject or interest which would appeal to both male and female members.

People who like to talk about their jobs!

 

The group meets on the 1st Thursday of the month at St James in Hood Manor

Story Maker
The same group as above are looking for someone to come along to our session and have a chat with our members to discover all about them and find out what makes them so special! This information will then need to be written up into a short feature to help us let others know about our wonderful members, what they gain from attending our group and hopefully helping to attract new members!

Any budding community journalists!

Work experience placements for children with autism
This school provides a specialist environment for children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder with high standards of accommodation and trained staff expertise. Children would have someone to accompany them on the placement.

Any businesses who could support children with lower end autism to help with life skills.

Equipment Required for ‘Grow Your Own Project’
The aim of this project is to encourage tenants to grow their own fruit and vegetables and learn about food sustainability, healthy eating and improving the environment. The project would provide up to 80 free ‘grow your own kits’ which includes a free planter and compost, 2 packs of pre-grown vegetables, packs of seeds, an information pack, trowel and sign.

What is needed:-

  • 40 compost bags
  • 80 growing bags
  • 80 wooden signs
  • 160 plant packs (2 per kit)
  • 84 pieces of chalk
  • 80 trowels
  • 40 planters
  • 161 seed packs
  • 34 grow bag trays

ICT Support
Helping tenants in Bewsey & Dallam with ICT and budgeting skills in readiness for the new welfare reforms.

Mentoring younger tenants to get into work.

Artist’s Impression
This group are looking for someone who is able to do an artist’s impression for a memorial garden they are installing.

 

Ideally a garden designer with a couple of hours to spare or any budding amateurs who wouldn't mind having a go.

As soon as possible!

 

Physical
This group are also looking for potential volunteers to help resurface the car park (wheel barrow and level material). This project would have a big positive impact for this club.

A large group of employees that don't mind a bit of physical work... on a dry day!

PR & Marketing Support
This is something we get asked for a lot! There are many charities and community and voluntary groups who have asked for this type of support, ranging from designing leaflets to designing websites and helping with campaigns.

Employees with a creative background. Employees with website design experience. Employees with a background in PR & marketing.
