MEPC has further extended its variety of social activities for companies and staff based at Silverstone Park to ‘Wednesday walks’ after one employee clocked more than 20 miles on foot during his working week.

MEPC has further extended its variety of social activities for companies and staff based at Silverstone Park to ‘Wednesday walks’ after one employee clocked more than 20 miles on foot during his working week.

Jason Broadfield was among a group of employees from businesses at Silverstone Park to take part in estate developer MEPC’s own walk to recognise national ‘Walk to Work Week’ campaign.

By the end of the week Jason, a services analyst for Silverstone Park Innovation Centre-based company Sales Out, saw 21.4 miles come up on his pedometer – the equivalent of 42,667 steps or six laps of Silverstone’s Formula 1 circuit! Cue a well-deserved bottle of bubbly from MEPC!

Now MEPC is going one step further and holding its own walks around the Park starting from the Innovation Centre at 1.00pm every Wednesday.

It’s one of a number of fun social activities arranged by MEPC to enhance the work-life balance for companies and their staff located on the estate – others currently include popular pilates sessions, quiz nights and five-a-side football…

Jason, aged 36, commented: “The Wednesday walk is a great idea. I go for a walk every lunch time anyway – it’s the ideal way not only to take a break but also to exercise, get some fresh air and clear your mind which has benefits for the quality of your work.”
