What is the Leavesden Park Travel Plan?

The Travel Plan is a package of measures designed to improve the quality of commuting and business travel for all employees and visitors at Leavesden Park. It comprises initiatives to promote greener, cleaner travel choices through the utilisation of existing transport options such as public transport, cycling and walking combined with other new initiatives.

The Travel Plan is an ongoing dynamic process to ease your journeys while bringing benefits to the environment. The Plan is not anti-car and does not expect you to dismiss the car altogether. It will, however, encourage you to consider alternative forms of transport or, whenever possible, to sensibly regulate single occupancy car travel.

Why do we have a Travel Plan

During peak periods approximately 80% of cars are single occupancy. Road journeys can be slow, unpredictable and stressful. The culture of dependency on the car is now so high that it affects health, the environment and the economy.

Realising the need to reduce traffic growth as well as being aware of the welfare of employees and visitors at Leavesden Park, a new approach has been taken to reduce reliance on single occupancy car usage. We believe that small changes in travel habits can make a significant contribution towards reducing traffic congestion and pollution.
