Urban Cycling Development Course

The UCDC will give you the hassle free opportunity to equip yourself with both the skills and knowledge needed to make cycling to work a realistic choice for you.

What we provide

Everything! Although we encourage you to use your own, we will provide bikes, helmets and, of course, fully qualified and experienced National Standard Instructors.

Course Dates

Wed 24th June
Wed 1st July
Wed 8th July
Wed 15th July

Starting from The Centre at 14:00, the course will last 2 hours and be conducted on local roads in the Birchwood Park area.

Bicycle Maintenance

Course members are welcome to attend a bicycle maintenance drop-in sessions at The Centre. These sessions will start at 13:00 on the above dates.

Bike Loan Scheme

We have a number of bicycles which can be hired FREE of charge during the project, including hybrids and folding bicycles for multimodal journeys.

The Commuter Challenge

Following the course, the challenge is to use your bike for commuting to work as much as possible for a month. Participants will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win some fantastic cycling goodies!
