Storage and Archive Tips:

  • Use a good quality storage or archive box to prevent damage to internal documents or items
  • Try to fill each box to its maximum to prevent collapse when stacking boxes in the storage units
  • To maximise space stack similar sized boxes together
  • Remember that business documents can get very heavy in bulk so split them into smaller boxes rather than using one large box
  • Create good detailed labels of what the box contains and think about how you will be stacking the boxes when positioning labels to avoid having to move boxes about.
  • Create a separate document containing a list of what’s in each box to use off site when needing to locate archived documents
  • Protect your fragile goods in bubble wrap
